David Cook's Independent Album #1 MP3 Album on Amazon

David Cook is already experiencing some success, and we've still got five more weeks of competition to go.

As I type this, David Cook's independent album Analog Heart is the number 1 MP3 album on Amazon.com. It pushed Mariah Carey's E=MC2 to #2.

Also, David Cook himself is the #3 Amazon MP3 artist.

A while ago I wrote a blog post about David recording some songs with his band Axium. This is not the same stuff. This album is solo David Cook and is all different songs than the one's I mentioned in my earlier post.

Even the label listed for the album is "David Cook." The album is copyrighted in 2006.

How things have changed in a very short amount of time. Only two years ago I was hunting down Taylor Hicks' independent album Under The Radar. I had to special order it from a small CD store in Alabama. It seems weird to be able to purchase music from a American Idol contestant during the competition from a major retailer like Amazon.

Of course it has been proven that you don't need to win the competition to be successful (I'm sure I don't even need to mention Chris Daughtry).

I have a feeling David Cook has a very good chance of winning, but even if he doesn't he seems to already be on the road to some kind of success in the music biz.
